Michael Kelsey Tracks Added To The Sound Cellar's New Broadcast

Recently I've added some tracks from Michael Kelsey on The Sound Cellar's internet radio broadcast. His music will be a staple of future broadcasts.

I witnessed one of the best live shows that I've ever seen over the past 34 years - and I've seen quite a few...

I know that the following will sound like a cliche, but it is so true:

One must experience a Michael Kelsey live performance - words cannot describe it. It is part improvisational performance art, part whimsy, part pop music and part sly wit that is all wrapped around and within guitar virtuosity that is jaw droppingly head shaking. I was really glad that I was not familiar with his work as I was open minded about the performance and was able to simply let his guitar work wash over me rather than having a guitar geek reaction and trying to figure how he was doing what he was doing, in what tuning, etc., etc.

I knew that a performance that was just not another guitarist/singer recital was happening in the first minute of the show. Michael immediately takes off on his ride, there is no warm-up. He reaches out and grabs your attention with a vibe that is uniqely his. That he allows us to go one the ride with him is both a privilege and a joy.

By all means check out a Michael Kelsey show and pick up some of his recordings. You won't be disappointed.

I'll direct your attention to this review from NUVO that reviews a recent Micheal Kelsey show.
